Awake to Sleeplessness

I am still awake.
Through the realms of fire
My lips open and break
Sweaty palms hold in a pyre
Her exhaling heat numbs me in ache
And I lie here, as if in air
un-twined by ale and cake.

I am still awake.
On a heatwave that freezes me within
an untimely thought does erect.
Another disturbed mellow climbs in.
Divine balls that spent all day in act
Roll by me, eat me hot, like at an inn.

I am still awake.
Squirming on a hot mass of flesh
'Is it the flesh, or the me, that is hot?'
In my delirium screams follow murmers
'Is "Temple Going' the same, as was
'Church Going?'

I am still awake,
Cannot sleep until it keeps me awake.
