It happened on a Sabbat day -
(What better day to break peaceful prayers?)
It was happening on all prayer days.
Duress forces prayers all the time,
You just didn’t know.
(Occasional fireworks on tv,
And smoke and skeletons of a town
Must be tiring and no fun
Comfort sure demands more.)
They must meet, prayers,
on way to their God
Rockets, missiles and blood.
All the glitter that lit up the sky.
Many lost their sleep.
Many, their life.
Elders woke up to plan the day
Children, unawares, were left to sleep,
Eternally.
They lied.
(Yes, read it again.)
Without limbs, without faces
Even without a head to call theirs,
And some without parents.
Orphans of God.
All over the world,
They still wander.
Never answered,
Saying prayers.
Orphans of a world
with no right
